U.S. History 8th

8th grade American History covers the time period from the Native Americans and early exploration of this continent through the American Civil War. God’s sovereignty is emphasized in every unit studied.

World Geography

World Geography is taught in ninth grade. The curriculum includes a survey of earth and its resources, the use of those resources by man, and the geographic and cultural features of people in the various regions and countries of the world. It combines all the varied elements of geography with a strong emphasis on biblical integration and philosophy.

World History

World History is designed to survey historical events from creation to more modern times in light of God’s Word. The course presents the hand of God in the affairs of man. The ministry of the church is emphasized, and politics, economics, and the arts and sciences of many cultures are discussed.

U.S. History 11th

United States History is taught in eleventh grade and offers a comprehensive survey of the history of the United States. It is intended to give the student a solid foundation of knowledge about the heritage of this country. The primary purpose of this course is to produce students who are conformed to Christ’s image and to show how God used ordinary people for extraordinary things to make this country a beacon for moral, ethical, and spiritual values.

Government

American Government is designed to cover the institutions of American government, including the Constitutional basis for the separation of powers and checks and balances. The public policy decisions and institutions of government are studied from a Biblical worldview.

AP Government

AP American Government is designed to cover the institutions of American government, including the Constitutional basis for the separation of powers and checks and balances. In addition, there is an emphasis on how public policy is made in this country with the purpose of preparing the students for the AP test.  The public policy decisions and institutions of government are studied from a Biblical worldview, however, which is a fundamental difference from the standard AP class. This course is designed to enable the student to take the AP Government test in May and possibly receive a college credit.  Therefore, the course moves at a faster pace and involves a heavier workload than a level high school course.
