Is tuition assistance available?

Tuition assistance is first made available to current CCS families.  Limited tuition assistance may be available to newly enrolled students with families who qualify. 

What time does school begin and end?

School begins at 8:15 a.m. for all grade levels and ends at 2:45 p.m. for Pre-K and 3:10 p.m. for grades K through 12.

Is Covenant Christian School accredited? How about the teachers?

Covenant Christian School is accredited through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).  Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) coordinate the school's athletic competitions and some fine arts competitions. Covenant teachers possess Bachelor's Degrees and are certified through ACSI.  More than one-third of our teachers possess advanced degrees.

What grades do you offer?

We offer Pre-Kindergarten (3 and 5 day) through grade 12.

What age must my child be in order to enroll in Pre-Kindergarten?

All Pre-Kindergarten students must be 4 years of age as of September 1st for the school year in which they are applying.

Do you administer an entrance exam as part of the application process?

All new student applicants entering kindergarten through grade 12 are required to complete math and English assessments to determine grade level readiness.

What curriculum do you use?

In order to stay competitive and give our students the best possible education, we use a variety of Christian curriculum. In pre-k through 2nd grade, we use predominantly ABeka curriculum.  In third grade through grade 12, we use predominantly Bob Jones curriculum.

Do you teach from the perspective of one denomination?

Covenant Christian School is an inter-denominational school, so students are taught Biblical scripture alone and use the NASB translation of the Bible. All of our instruction is Bible-based, and we emphasize the importance of Biblical application to academics and everyday life.

What "special" classes do you teach in elementary?

In addition to Bible, English, History, Math, and Science, elementary students will take Physical Education and Music twice per week and Art, Library, and Computer once per week.

What electives are available in secondary (grades 7 through 12)?

Students in junior high may choose from Art, Choir, and Drama classes. High school students may choose from Art, Covenant Praise Group (CPG), Yearbook, Growler, and Web Team classes.

Do you have after-school care available?

We have Cougar Care available to parents who need assistance with child care after school. Cougar Care is available from 3:10 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. For more specific information, access Cougar Care. 

How early may I drop off my child in the morning?

We begin receiving students at 7:45 a.m. each school day. We do also offer Early Morning Care, beginning at 6:30 am every morning.

What is your current enrollment and what are your class sizes?

Our current enrollment is 341. Covenant offers class sizes with low student to teacher ratios.  Ideally, target numbers in each classroom are as follows:

Pre-K through Kindergarten - 12 students per teacher 

1st  and 2nd Grades - 16 students per teacher

3rd - 6th Grades - 18 students per teacher

7th - 12th Grades - 20 students per teacher

My family is searching, but does not currently have a church home. How will I be able to obtain a pastor recommendation?

If you are currently searching for a church home in the area, you may ask the pastor from your previous church home to complete the pastor recommendation form.  However, reenrollment the next school year will be dependent upon submission of a pastor recommendation from your new church home.

What are the school office hours?

The school office is open from 7:45 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. each school day.

If I need to reach my child's teacher, what is the best way?

The most efficient way of contacting your child's teacher is to email them directly. You may access your child's teacher's email through the Faculty & Staff page on the website, through RenWeb, or by using the following format:  The office staff will gladly leave a message for your child's teacher, but they cannot interrupt instruction periods by transferring phone calls into the classrooms during class time.

How involved can parents be at Covenant Christian School?

There are countless ways parents can be involved at Covenant. We ask each family to volunteer 24 service hours each year. Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) and Booster Club are parent organizations offering multiple service opportunities. Please contact the school office for more information.

What sports are available at Covenant Christian School?
Team sports are available to our students beginning in grade 6 continuing through grade 12. In the fall, CCS offers 6-man football, volleyball, cross-country, and cheerleading. Winter sports include basketball and cheerleading. In the spring, your child may participate in baseball, softball, and track and field. How long does the application process take and when will I be called for an interview?
The time span from submitting an online New Student Application to enrollment at Covenant varies.  How long it takes to received required records and recommendation forms greatly affects the waiting period which is why we strongly recommend all records, required forms, and documentation be emailed or faxed to the Admissions Office.  Once an application file is complete, you may expect to be called for an interview within 2 to 3 business days. After the interview has taken place, you will be notified of your status by e-mail after the next scheduled Admissions Committee Meeting.
What extra-curricular activities are available to Covenant students?

Throughout the school year, students in kindergarten through grade 8 are able to participate in the ASCI Spelling Bee, Math Olympics, Art Fair, Choir Festival, and Speech Meet. Secondary students are encouraged to serve the school and our community through Key Club, Spanish Club, Student Council and Honor Society. Each year they participate in Art Fair, Music Festival, and TAPPS State Choir Competition.  In their junior year, Covenant Drama students produce the Junior Class Play which is performed at the historic Creighton Theater in downtown Conroe. In spring of alternating years, Covenant Praise Group (CPG) is privileged to travel to New York City to perform at Carnegie Hall. In alternating years, our secondary students have the opportunity to tour various European countries. 

Covenant students in all grade levels minister and serve locally through various churches and organizations.  In addition, eighth grade students partner with churches and organizations such as South Texas Children's Home to serve in communities within the state of Texas.  Senior students have been privileged to partner with HandUp Global Goods and CoreLuv to serve in Haiti.
