Commitment
EXPECTATIONS to meet that commitment:
For the School:
1. Develop Character traits that honor God and give witness to those that are watching on athletic competition.
2. Set the standards and guidelines for participation.
3. Provide the facilities, equipment, and schedules needed to run smoothly.
4. Support all those involved.
For the Athlete:
1. Be a Christian athlete – respect others, take care of facilities, appreciate the opportunity to play, etc.
2. Manage your time wisely – church, family time, school work, social time, athletics, etc.
3. Stay healthy – eat right, take care of your body, sleep, report injuries to the coach, etc.
4. Follow through on your commitment – be present in body and mind, work hard, take coaching, make yourself better, make your team better, etc.
For the Parent:
1. Represent Christ on the stands.
2. Support your daughter and her team.
3. Encourage your daughter to talk with the coach about any issues that might arise.
4. Use the 24 hour rule for emotional issues and ask for a conference with the coach if necessary.
For the Coach:
1. Reflect Christ in all that is said and done.
2. Teach the game; be prepared for games and practices.
3. Communicate with players, parents, CCS administration, TAPPS, officials, and opposing schools.
4. Deal with all aspects of volleyball on and off the court.
This is not an all inclusive list, but a good base for the beginning of a successful program and successful year.
