Elementary Chapel: January 6th

January 06, 2016
By Covenant Christian School

Today's chapel was powerful!

Our chapel focus today was on Ephesians 6:16 - the shield of faith.  Mrs. Dana Lynn kicked off the new year introducing this important piece of God's armor.  Three of our 5th grade students helped demonstrate the need for our shield against "flaming arrows.

Elementary Chapel: 5th Graders

December 11, 2015
By Covenant Christian School

We are so proud of the 5th grade class for the wonderful play they put on this past Wednesday at Chapel.   It was a great reminder for us all to not get distracted with the busyness of the season and to remember that Jesus is the reason we celebrate Christmas.

If you were not able to attend, please view the link below to watch it and forward the link to your family and friends!  It will also be included in this week's newsletter.

A huge thanks to our amazing 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Killian, for working with the students on this for the last few weeks.  We appreciate you and Mrs. Kammerdiener for leading worship!

In our elementary chapel we continued our study on the Armor of God.  Special thanks to Mr. Jacob Villa for leading our worship and Mrs. Kathy Talbot for leading the devotion. The focus was on preparing ourselves and being ready to share the good news.

Finally, be strengthened in the Lord and in the strength of his power.11 Clothe yourselves with the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. For this reason, take up the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand your ground on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand. Stand firm therefore, by fastening the belt of truth around your waist, by putting on the breastplate of righteousness, by fitting your feet with the preparation that comes from the good news of peace, and in all of this, by taking up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  With every prayer and petition, pray at all times in the Spirit, and to this end be alert, with all perseverance and requests for all the saints.

Ephesians 16: 10-18

Our elementary classes enjoyed hearing from our chapel speaker today, Dana Lynn.  She gave us an intro to Ephesians 6:15 - "Shoes of Peace".  She spoke about how we are called to be prepared to go and share the gospel.

As we continue in our series of learning about the 'Armor of God',  please join us in praying for our students.  What a blessing to be able to share these foundational truths with our kids!

In this morning's chapel, Mrs. Texidor introduced the Breastplate of Righteousness.  She reminded us of how important it is to guard our hearts.  Our hearts are like treasure boxes!

Students were so excited to have Mrs. Dana Lynn return to lead chapel yesterday.  She reminded us how important it is that we follow God's truth even when others may tell us it is outdated.  God's truth is never changing and we must always remember to put on our belt of truth every single day.
